The crew was shooting elsewhere in the hospital when Johnson thought of paying a visit to the patients of Savannah’s Pediatric Specialty Ward. Johnson met the little champs from the ward, only to be surprised by their tenacity and strength.
Johnson caught up with young Pedro who came to the hospital with his father for a bone marrow treatment, reveals Los Angeles Times. The eyes of the boy’s father welled up with tears as Pedro’s smile lit the surroundings. Johnson posted a photo with Pedro on his Instagram, captioning it “Stay strong Pedro, much love to you and your family and thank you for visiting me on set.”
He also met little Aiden, a boy who fist-bumped Johnson with all his concentration. So impressed was The Rock with the little man’s concentration that he even posted about it on his Instagram. “And good Lord I wish I had Aiden’s concentration when I was in my high school math classes. I wouldn’t have failed Algebra twice,” he captioned the photograph.
He also met Maleak, who was very happy to see the “San Andreas” star. The young patient gave him a big bear hug, informs Los Angeles Times.
9 News reveals that young Christopher’s mother requested Johnson to meet her son Christopher. “Made me think to give so much credit to these parents who would do anything to take their kid’s pain away and anything to bring a smile to their faces,” posted Johnson on his Facebook page. “As a papa bear I understand. Glad this mom brought a smile to Christopher’s face. And glad I got a chance to shake the hand of this very strong and inspiring young man. Stay strong Christopher and show them scars with pride. You’re the man!” he added.
Life is full of precious moments. Young fans of Dwayne Johnson will always cherish meeting him as one of those. So will The Rock, who clearly seemed to have taken to the young people in Memorial Health Hospital.
