The release of the much awaited “Batman vs Superman Dawn of Justice” is just more than a month away and speculation surrounding who plays which character have been doing the rounds for some time now.

The latest rumour comes from Latino Review, after inside sources have told them about the role that Scoot McNairy will be playing. Speculation of him playing Jimmy Olsen, The Flash, or a character who is a key to the origin of Cyborg have been circulating, but this report has given a completely different twist to these speculations.

The report says that “Halt and Catch Fire‘s” McNairy will be in a wheelchair after an injury he suffered during events from the “Man of Steel” movie. McNairy appeared wearing green leggings on the sets of “Batman vs Superman” which suggests that his feet might be either digitally removed or enhanced in some way.

Due to his injury, he has been bought into the Senate to testify against Superman, however his tryst with Superman will not end with this.

Sources close to the movie was quoted by Screen Rant in saying:

“McNairy’s wheelchair-bound character will be brought in to testify against Superman to the U.S. Senate, but also becomes a victim of Lex Luthor’s campaign against the Man of Steel. One of Luthor’s schemes in the movie involves turning McNairy’s character into a human bomb of sorts, radicalizing him, in an attempt to get him close to Superman and to hurt him.”

This can only mean that he won’t play a legless Jimmy Olsen, and even more unlikely that he will be The Flash. The Latino Review news update is a rumour of course, but looking at pictures from the set and trailers, the rumour has a high possibility of turning out to be true.

The actor’s role in the movie is not yet revealed entirely; hence, people are assuming all the roles he could play.
