“Batman vs Superman” recently dropped their latest movie trailer. The latest promotional material featured the entrance of Doomsday which sparked rumors and speculations. What is super villain Lex Luthor’s ultimate plan against the two heroes?
According to Movie Pilot, Batman and Superman’s battle with Doomsday won’t be the last. So who’s the real villain on “Batman vs Superman”? Is it Doomsday or Lex Luthor?
Movie production designer Patrick Tatopoulous told French publication Premiere some details on Doomday’s role in the upcoming film. Screencrush provided a translation of the said interview.
After the recent trailer confirmed Doomsday’s relationship with Lex Luthor, Tatopoulous mentioned that there’s a lot more to Doomsday’s appearance.
“We are able to tell a story in a fresh way. Doomsday is an evolution essentially. Fans may be aware of the Death Of Superman story, but this is handled in such a new way. When the film is called Batman v or versus Superman, it really has a lot of levels to the meaning. Superman isn’t just killed off at the end of something. We see how he evolves as part of Lex’s plan to protect the world.”
So Lex created Doomsday to protect the world? Is he protecting the world from the two supernatural beings or something else? Nonetheless, the production designer hinted that fans should watch out for the movie’s real surprise.
“Seeing the Superman we know, be gone, and then replaced with this reproduction is really going to make fans think of how we look at these super beings. It was especially interesting to figure out, how would you create Superman from Zod… then how would that involve into Doomsday.”
“Doomsday isn’t just the final act. Those feeling they may know too much this early, are going to be in for a true surprise.”
Movie Pilot gave speculations on who could possibly be a bigger villain than Doomsday. The site mentioned that it could be Lex Luthor himself or super villain Darkseid. Some fans claimed to see Darkseid’s Parademons in the trailer.
Who will the super heroes face after Doomsday? Let’s not forget that Wonder Woman will join their world, too.
“Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice” will hit theaters on March 25, 2016.
