“Batman vs Superman” star Ben Affleck kept quiet about Jennifer Garner’s Vanity Fair interview. In it, Garner talked openly about the breakup of their marriage, her focus on the children and her career as well as about dealing with pain.
In spite of the article, the couple continued to hang out together in public. The two were at an Oscars 2016 after-party. However, they left the event separately.
After two and a half weeks, the actor finally talked about it. His interview with The New York Times intended to promote his upcoming movie “Batman vs Superman: Dawn of Justice”. However, it eventually touched on the topic of home.
Affleck explained that for the sake of the children, he does not openly talk about his family. He added, “Because it ends up being in the record somewhere, in the great miasma of junk on the Internet.”
About the intimate details shared by Garner, Affleck said, “Jen’s great. She’s a great person. We’re on great terms. I just saw her this morning, so that’s the reality that I live in.”
He went on to say, “She felt like she wanted to discuss it and get it out there and get it over with, so she could say, ‘Look, I already talked about it — I don’t want to do it again.”
“It’s fine. She’s allowed to talk about it,” Affleck added.
Affleck also revealed the family’s plans for a European vacation. The actor who is part of the cast of the “Justice League” movie will be filming in various locations of the continent.
Given their new living arrangement, news of a family holiday is not surprising.
The New York Times also asked the actor about his reaction to Ricky Gervais’ joke at the Golden Globes.
Host Gervais introduced Affleck’s longtime BFF actor Matt Damon as “the only person who Ben Affleck hasn’t been unfaithful to”.
Affleck laughed and replied, “It’s the way Ricky Gervais perceives me, I suppose.” He added, “Whatever. I’ve had jokes made at my expense before. It’s part of the deal.”
