‘Batman V Superman’ Movie: Joker, Riddler Almost Included as Villains; What Went Wrong?

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice

“Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice” will feature characters like Alfred Pennyworth, Wonder Woman, Doomsday, Lex Luthor and Lois Lane. However, the supposed character additions, The Riddler and The Joker to the DC legends were not pushed through.

The “Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice”movie has almost included more legendary DC characters. A report from Collider has indicated that film director Zack Synder initially planned to put The Riddler and The Joker in the upcoming DC film.

The “Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice” director said in an interview that he already discussed with screenwriter Chris Terrio the possibility of including more characters in the movie. According to the Director, he believes that the characters’ mythological presence in the film will be significant in making the film gather a wider fan base.

However, Sanders admitted that he also felt that he should not put too much of his attention to it as he was also needed to spend time with “Superman V Batman” in order to have a better understanding of the existing conflict.

It appears that Synder has finally chosen a more controlled approach to the villains. While none of these will appear to have a direct confrontation with the Caped Crusader, their presence in this world is introduced.

Surely, a Robin costume in the size of a Joker is going to be displayed in the Batcave, while The Riddler question mark is going to seem vandalized on the wall of Gotham City before the showdown between Superman and Batman, Batman News reported.

Moreover, it is also believed that Synder will finally make the right decision by excluding The Riddler and The Joker in the upcoming film, given the fact that the movie appears to be crowded enough, and additional characters may seem unnecessary.

Meanwhile, Jared Leto’s Joker is set to debut in late summer in the “Suicide Squad.”

“Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice” is coming to the big screen on March 25.
