‘Batman v Superman’ Movie Gets R-Rated Version

Batman v Superman

Is “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice” set to become the most hardcore DC release ever?

According to Variety, a director’s cut of the upcoming superhero flick has been rated R by the Motion Picture Association of America. The extended cut will have a Blu-ray release and will reportedly showcase more “sequences of violence.”

According to Cinema Blend, it is not at all surprising that director Zack Snyder will release a more adult version of the movie. “[Violence] is almost an art form to Snyder’s directorial hand,” the film news site explains. Snyder previously directed “hardcore” comic films, such as “300” and “Watchmen.” However, the site suggests the DC movie might also be trying to recreate the recent success of R-Rated “Deadpool.”

A teaser to Batman v. Superman was earlier released at this year’s Super Bowl. The promo was cleverly disguised as a Turkish Airline ad. It earlier landed the list of 12 best Super Bowl movie trailers and promos this year.

An enterprising Youtube user earlier made a super cut of all the movie’s trailers in chronological order. You can check and watch it below.

It was earlier reported that the soundtrack of this upcoming DC adaptation will be released soon. It will include tracks like “The Red Capes Are Coming” and “Beautiful Lie.”

The original PG-13 version of “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice” is set to hit theaters on March 25. Ben Affleck and Henry Cavill will star as the film’s main battling forces. Gal Gadot will also debut in the film as Diana Prince/Wonder Woman. Actors Amy Adams, Diane Lane, and Laurence Fishburne will also reprise their roles from the “Man of Steel.” Jesse Eisenberg will also be featured in the film as super villain Lex Luthor.

The R-rated extended version of the movie meanwhile will probably be available this fall.
