While the fans are clamoring for Bates Motel Season 5, the latest update might help to calm them down.  Reports suggest that the horror television series is returning to the small screens on March 2017.  Even the brand new trailer dropped quite a big bombshell, confirming that plot for the upcoming season will go more psycho.

Norma Bates (Vera Farmiga) is a major character on the show.   However, her death in Bates Motel Season 4 put the fans in frenzy. However, show-runner Kerry Ehrin revealed that Norma will again be a mainstay in season 5 . In his words: “Vera will always be the center of the show in any incarnation because the obsession with her has always driven the show.”

Relevant sources reported that Norma will be alive but in Norman’s (Freddie Highmore) mind. But there is a catch! In Bates Motel Season 5, the character of Norma will be very different from what it used to be in seasons 1 to 4. This new version of her is completely based on the projections from Norman’s psyche.

On the other hand, Norman will be seen struggling between the reality and his imaginations.  He will still try to communicate with his mother from time to time. It looks like he is unable to let her go. Norma’s end was tragic which eventually deteriorate Norman’s mental condition in the fifth season.  He still believes that his mother is alive even after witnessing her cremation.

Norma’s resurgence from her death will bring nothing but a psychological series of weird incidents in the fifth season. While the show is loosely based on the 59’s classic Psycho, the TV series has made some modifications to the plot. So it is tough to predict what’s next.

Earlier at the San Diego Comic-Con, it was announced that singing sensation Rihanna is going to play Marion Crane in Bates Motel Season 5. There are speculations that the TV series will feature Crane’s death in a completely different way.

In the meantime, the channel has released a brand new trailer for Bates Motel Season 5.  The preview reveals that there are many more dark secrets set to come out.
