On Thursday, Apple announced its Back-to-School 2015 promo which offers a free pair of Beats headphones to customers.
Mashable reported consumers can avail of the deal if they are students, faculty members, or a parent of a student who purchase a new iMac, MacBook, MacBook Pro, MacBook Air or Mac Pro. Refurbished Macs and Mac mini are not eligible.
Apple has leveled up the promotional value of this year’s deal compared to its 2014 back to school deal, said Business Insider.
Last year, Apple offered a free $100 Apple gift card for the purchase of a Mac and a $50 gift card if you buy an iPhone or iPad. This year, the tech company is covering the cost of a pair of Beats Solo 2 On-Ear headphones, which retails for $199.95.
The Beats wired headphone is available in black, white, red, blue, gray and pink colors.
Customers also have the option to upgrade the free Beats headphones to Beats Solo 2 Wireless On-Ear Headphones for just $100, which offers a $199.95 savings, Mac Observer said.
The promo, which is available at Apple retail stores and Apple Authorized Campus stores, will run from July 23 to Sept. 18, 2015. The deal will hit the U.S. Apple online store on Aug. 6, 2015, Mashable noted.
Customers can also go visit Apple online education stores or call 1-800-MY-APPLE for details of the deal, Mac Observer said. You can also check Apple’s Terms and Conditions here for the specifics of the promo.
The deal is available in the U.S., Canada and Puerto Rico for now but Apple stores in other countries are expected to follow with a similar Back-to-School promotion.
Mashable said this is the first time iPhone maker has offered free Beats headphones as part of a new purchase promotion. Apple used to offer free iPod devices with the purchase of a new Mac, before changing it to a gift cards.
