‘The Bachelorette’ Australia 2015: David Storms Off, ‘Happy’ Not to Get Rose

“The Bachelorette” Australia Sam Frost booted out David Witko after a heated exchange with her.

“The Bachelorette” Australia premiere Wednesday but tension at the mansion escalated quickly.

On the second night of the reality TV series, 30-year-old model David suggested that Sam was looking for someone who is rich and has good looks. He also suggested that she may be attracted to one of the bachelors, Michael, because of his professional football career.

Sam hit back and told David: “I am the last person on this Earth who would date someone for their status. That is the most offensive thing anyone can say about me.”

During the rose ceremony, after David did not receive a rose, he said: “I’m actually reasonably happy not to receive a rose tonight.”

Soccer player Michael Turnbull defended David of his action. He told that David was simply misunderstood and was actually a nice guy.

When asked about why he thinks David stormed out of the rose ceremony, Michael said: “I don’t feel like he would get rejected a lot so it was new to him and he didn’t know how to handle it. He went into meltdown mode and he lost a bit of pride. He knew that he wasn’t going to get a rose and he said it. I don’t condone that behavior but I can understand why he did it and I can see where he was coming from.”

The Sydney Morning Herald noted that David previously refused to participate in a physical challenge involving jumping off a cliff.

“I deep down don’t feel that I have to prove myself in this way to her. I’ve never even worn a wetsuit in my life.” he said.

David also caused controversy  for “breaking the bro code” by interrupting Michael in his one on one time with Sam.

“The Bachelorette” Australia airs Wednesday and Thursday at 7:30 pm on Channel Ten.
