“Avengers: Infinity War” is shaping up to be the biggest film ever in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. In terms of casting, the film is expected to feature 67 new characters, reports slashfilm.com.

Some of the supporting characters from the “Age of Ultron” will now get more exposures in this two-part movie. “I want to see some storytelling from some of the secondary characters,” Joe Russo said during an appearance at the Wizard World New Orleans convention.  The “Avengers: Infinity War” will be directed by the brothers, Joe Russo and Anthony Russo.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Russo explained, “We’re focusing on that right now with Infinity War while we’re breaking into those movies, is which characters can we pull to the forefront who potentially haven’t had their own ‘A’ story arc to this point,” he continued. “I think you’ll see that the supporting Avengers are going to become primary Avengers.”

Does that mean, we will not see our all-time favorites? And with so many characters, we only hope that it does not end up like the case of too many cooks.

“Everything is finite, right? Nothing can last forever… It’s cyclical. Some new Avengers in [future movies] are going to become prominent and then maybe some Avengers might not be around anymore,” he continued.

It makes sense that we’d see some of the main superheroes like Captain America and Iron Man go off while the newer guys step in. The Hollywood reporter speculates that “Avengers: Infinity War” will showcase some heroic sacrifices from Marvel veterans like Iron Man, Thor or even Captain America, as their actors’ contracts expire.

However, slashfilm.com opines that other players like Nick Fury, Falcon, Scarlet Witch, Black Widow and Hawkeye, who haven’t had the chance to headline their own film, might just get some prominence. The film also provides some diversity and refreshes the MCU without rebooting anything states screencrush.

“Avengers: Infinity War” Part 1 releases in May 2018.
