Avatar 2 director James Cameron was on the other side of the camera in New Zealand.
No doubt, fans are already anticipating the release of Avatar 2 from the award-winning director. However, earlier plans might change as revealed by sources earlier. As explained, the sequel would not be a stand-alone. Rather it would be part of a bigger story, hence the succession of films meticulously planned by Cameron.
James Cameron certainly has his hands full working on four sequels of Avatar. Yet, he took time off to answer a question about what he thought of the J.J. Abrams reboot of the George Lucas’ Star Wars franchise. While he might have favored the original films over the latest installment, Cameron is cautious to take on the force at the box office.
The Hollywood director recently undertook another side project in collaboration with Tourism New Zealand. Not only was he the star of the video along with his wife Suzy, Cameron also wrote the script. Tourism NZ Chief Executive Kevin Bowler revealed James Cameron’s participation gave immense value to the video. Thus, he’s confident that it would encourage many to visit the country.
“Having someone of the caliber of James Cameron sharing his personal stories and insights while exploring some of New Zealand’s most beautiful places is of immeasurable value for New Zealand,” Bowler said. Cameron, a Canadian, considers the Land of the Long White Cloud as his second home. Four years ago, he established the family’s coastal estate in Wairarapa, according to Stuff.co.nz. The director is reportedly working on Avatar 2 here.
The video showed Cameron and his wife as they visited key attractions in New Zealand. It featured the Routeburn Track, the Tasman Glacier, Dart River Canyon, Blanket Bay, Lake Pukaki and Mt. Alfred. Cameron encourages others to pursue their curiosity for the simple pleasure of discovery.
