Australia’s Next Top Model 2016 returns September 20 on Fox 8tv.
Australia’s Next Top Model 2016 marks the tenth anniversary of the popular reality franchise Down Under. The show promises the best combination of judges and candidates ever assembled. Hence, audiences can look forward to its biggest year ever.
However, could this year’s batch of hopefuls share a distinct quality? An earlier report about Australia’s Next Top Model 2016 noted the resemblance of contestants to supermodel Kendall Jenner. Although one did seem to stand out. Apparently, she is able to demonstrate the “smize” or the smile with your eyes technique coined by franchise creator Tyra Banks. Hence, season 10 would likely be interesting to watch.
Thirteen hopefuls will vie for this year’s title. In honor of its tenth year, a number of Australia’s prominent models will guest throughout the season. Stars like Miranda Kerr and Elle Macpherson are expected. David Jones ambassador Gemma Ward will also grace the show. Though she is currently pregnant with her second child, Ward proved to be a professional as she participated at the recent David Jones Fashion Show 2016. Past winners and former contestants would join the grand finale as well.
According to TV Tonight, Jennifer Hawkins is the host of season 10. Megan Gale joins designer Alex Perry as full time judges. Cheyenne Tozzi returns as a mentor. Australian twins Jordan and Zac Stenmark are also onboard to work alongside Tozzi. Perry spoke about the significance of the show’s tenth year.
“Ten years is a lifetime in the modelling industry, so to have survived let alone thrived, is such an honor for Australia’s Next Top Model. It’s fantastic and a very proud moment to be celebrating ten seasons of such an iconic and landmark series. When we first started filming in the Foxtel studios in Sydney in 2004, none of us could ever have imagined the show would grow to launch so many modelling careers,” Perry revealed.
