Gigi Hadid’s sister, Bella Hadid is set to be in Australia for Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week. The model had been asking for substantial amount of money to represent IMG. She will participate in the brand’s first 2017 resort line. The show will start in May.
She was awarded the Model of the Year at the Daily Front Row’s Fashion LA Awards in the U.S. last month. She has also worked for fashion houses Chanel and Givenchy. The model, who is currently suffering from Lyme Disease just like her mother and brother, is dating Canadian singer, The Weeknd, 26. “She is resilient and focused on a new direction—she’s made a name for herself in the modelling industry while she struggles with symptoms of chronic Lyme disease every day,” said Yolanda Hadid, her mother who is a model and a TV personality.
“Bella was always my number one choice,” Misha Collection’s creative director Michelle Aznavorian told Vogue over the phone. “She’s just got such a timeless, elegant and a very high fashion look. We chose Bella as the face of Misha as we are launching our new Misha Gold collection which is a more elevated line with a higher price point. We’re getting everything manufactured in Australia and we’re using all Italian, German and Japanese fabrics so we wanted to collaborate with a beautiful face.”
It has been confirmed by the Misha Press that the 19-year-old will walk in the ramp and will not act as an ambassador sitting in the front row. “Bella Hadid is one of today’s foremost models, She has an alluring sense of self, she is both charming and confident. Bella is not afraid of making a statement, expressing herself through her thoughtful style choices. She perfectly embodies the Misha Collection woman,” Aznavorian further added, Yahoo News reports.
Rebecca Vallance, Bec & Bridge, Bianca Spender, By Johnny, Ginger & Smart and Camilla are the other designers who will be present in the show,The Daily Telegraph reports.
