South Africa will host Australia in the third and the final T20 International at the Cape Town Stadium on Wednesday, March 9, starting 6 pm local time.
As per the ESPN Cricinfo reports, David Warner and Glenn Maxwell stole the show in the second T20 International as Australia squared the series with a last-ball thrilling finish on a pitch which produced more than 400 runs in 40 overs.
“The fortunate thing for us was that I was in and we had a left-hand, right-hand combination, that’s what we try and do when you have a spinner who spins it away from the right-hander,” Warner said. “We’ve only got myself and Ussie [Usman Khawaja] and when he’s in the team he’s at the top and I’m in the middle.
The win will boost the side’s confidence ahead of the T20 World Cup in India, starting today. Australia will kick start their World T20 campaign on March 21, 2016 against arch rivals New Zealand.
“Our confidence will always be high,” Warner further exclaimed. “Our first two games in India are at small grounds where you’ll have to chase well and if you bat first 200 might not be enough.”
The squad will remain unchanged for the series decider.
South Africa beat Australia in the first T20 at Durban by three wickets. David Miller and Imran Tahir’s form will be the key to South Africa’s success in the high profile clash.
