Atlanta Hawks will play the Boston Celtics in their sixth game of the NBA Play-Offs campaign at the TD Garden in Boston on Thursday, April 28, starting 8 pm ET.
The Hawks clinched a playoff berth for the ninth consecutive season, the longest active streak in the Eastern Conference and the longest run in team history. Atlanta is the fourth seed after finishing the regular season 48-34. Since moving to Atlanta in 1968, the franchise has made 32 post-season appearances.
Paul Millsap tallied 45 points (19-31 FGs, 3-6 3FGs, 4-6 FTs), 13 rebounds, four blocks, three assists and two steals in Game 4 at Boston (4/24), tying the Hawks’ postseason franchise record for FGM held by Hall of Famers Dominique Wilkins (twice) and Bob Pettit (4/12/58 vs. Boston). He is the first player in NBA postseason history to record at least that stat line in a single game and set personal playoff career-highs in points and FGM.
If Atlanta wins the upcoming NBA Play-Offs, they will get a chance to matchup with the Cleveland Cavaliers.
“We just have to have this same type of mentality, same type of effort and take it on the road,” coach Mike Budenholzer said. “Can we play with the same poise and the same effort? The crowd was great here tonight. I think the guys have a comfort level, and we just need to take that on the road. … In the playoffs, it’s important to put a crowd away and play well.”
