The recently leaked promotional materials of the upcoming Asus ZenFone 3 line-up hinted at a new Qualcomm processor. Speculations suggest that the top model of the ZenFone 3 series will tout the new mysterious Snapdragon 821 SoC. However, the company is yet to confirm the official ZenFone 3 specs and features.
The Asus ZenFone 3 line-up will arrive in three variants including the ZenFone 3, ZenFone 3 Deluxe and ZenFone 3 Max. The new leaked render indicates that the Asus ZenFone 3 Deluxe variant may be powered by Snapdragon 821 chipset instead if Snapdragon 823 SoC.
The new SD 821 will come with an overhauled clocking speed of 2.3GHz as compared to the Snapdragon 820 SoC which is clocked at 2.15GHz. The new processor will also be paired with an Adreno 530 GPU, as reported by Gizmo China. This will reportedly make the processor 7 percent, faster than the SD 820. Prevailing rumors also suggest that the Asus ZenFone 3 Deluxe could land in few markets with Snapdragon 823 chipset.
It is worth noting that, Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 820 chipset is powering most of the premium flagship smartphones in 2016 including the Samsung Galaxy S7, Galaxy S7 Edge, LG G5 and HTC 10.
The successor to the Asus ZenFone 2 was expected to be unveiled at the Computex 2016, held on May 31. Last month, Asus CEO Jerry Shen announced to push the release date of the Asus ZenFone 3 to the month of June. According to DigiTimes, the ZenFone 3 line-up of smartphones will be available in six countries, confirmed Shen. He also mentioned that all the three variants will come with a higher price tag than its predecessors.
The Asus Zenfone 3 Deluxe variant is expected to sport a 5.9-inch display with a screen resolution of 1,280×720 pixels. The device may offer 2GB or 3GB RAM configurations and shipped with Android 6.0 Marshmallow out-of-the-box.
The ZenFone 3 will reportedly feature a 5.5-inch Full-HD display with 1920×1,080 pixel resolution. Other ZenFone 3 specs include a hexa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 650 processor, 3GB of RAM and 32GB of in-built storage.
