Apple March event saw the launch of iPhone 5SE and the 9.7-inch iPad Pro along with new watch bands for Apple Watch. However, the company has not revealed about the highly expected Apple Watch 2.
At the big event in Cupertino, Apple introduced new watch bands for Apple Watch with colourful woven nylon bands and new Milanese Loop in Space Black. The company also surprisingly reduced the price of Apple Watch by $50.
However, many users would still want to know about the heavily-rumoured Apple Watch 2, when it will be released and what to expect from it.
According to International Business Times report, Barry Lam, chairperson of Quanta (supplier of Apple Watch) said that the company along with Apple is developing the second-generation of Apple Watch last year. Lam also said that Apple Watch could be launched in the second quarter of 2016. So going by Barry Lam’s statements, the launch of Apple Watch could be expected during the WWDC 2016 in June.
“A further rumor from the upstream supply chain suggests that Apple has lowered its order for the Watch 2 from its initial estimates for Q2 suggesting it’ll be launched before the expected iPhone 7 but with limited availability. The recent price cuts on the Apple Watch also suggest that the release may be nearing as older products of Apple are discounted when a newer model is expected to hit the shelves soon,” IBT wrote.
Wearable’s report claims that the reduction of $50 for Apple Watch had just become more competitive with the latest Samsung Gear 2 and Moto 360.
Meanwhile, MacWorld divulged that the next-generation Apple Watch will sport a brand-new design for an ultra-tiny CPU. It is expected that the processor might be an ARM Cortex A32 chipset clocked with a 32-bit powerhouse.
