Ashley Madison information dump has possibly created havoc in the lives of many, including Josh Duggar who had reportedly signed-up for the website. Ashley Madison is a popular adultery website, encouraging users to have extra-marital affairs.
Josh Duggar and his family have now broken their silence surrounding the controversy.
Josh released a statement on the family’s website:
“I have been the biggest hypocrite ever. While espousing faith and family values, I have secretly over the last several years been viewing pornography on the Internet and this became a secret addiction and I became unfaithful to my wife.”
Josh also admitted to living a “double life”, and asked for forgiveness to his family, supporters and other Christians as well.
“I am so ashamed of the double life that I have been living and am grieved for the hurt, pain and disgrace my sin has caused my wife and family, and most of all Jesus and all those who profess faith in Him,” he said in the statement.
“I humbly ask for your forgiveness. Please pray for my precious wife Anna and our family during this time.”
In the wake of Josh admitting to his infidelity, speculations over Anna going in for a divorce has begun to the rounds online. However, People’s magazine reports a source stating that it is unlikely that Anna will be initiating a separation.
“Anna will not leave him,” the source told People magazine. “As with her in-laws, she is turning more to her faith than ever. She and Josh are probably praying around the clock right now, I would assume.”
Josh’s parents, Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar, also shared that that their heats were broken over the recent news about their son.
