The Android 6 Marshmallow update is eagerly anticipated by the Samsung community. They are hoping that it will arrive this month for their smartphones. While the update is already rolling out for HTC One M8 unlocked handset users in the US, Samsung users are still waiting for their Android 6 Marshmallow treat to be dropped. Those hoping that they enjoy the taste of the latest OS in time for the holidays may probably be disappointed.
From the last leak that Tech Times got its hands on, it appears that the Samsung Galaxy Note 5 is the only device from the stables of the Korean company expected to be receiving the update this month. While there is no official word from the company, it is safe to say that the latest flagships such as the Galaxy S6, Galaxy S6 Edge and Galaxy S6 Edge+ as well as the Note 5 are on the roaster to be receiving the Android 6 Marshmallow update.
The leak reveals that Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge+, Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge smartphones may receive the upgraded OS in January next year. After these, Galaxy Note 4 and Galaxy Note Edge will be in line to be getting the Marshmallow treat sometime in February. Then, the month of March will witness Galaxy A5 receiving the update and it will be rolled out to Galaxy S5 and Galaxy Tab S 10.5 in April next year. Samsung fans can sure keep their fingers crossed.
A report on Android Geeks suggested that Samsung may release the update “sooner than last year’s” OS, since this one isn’t as major as Lollipop. But since this isn’t the official word, hold back on marking the calendar, the company could probably be breaking its silence on the dates to give fans something to hold on to. One can always hope!
