Android 6.0 Marshmallow

The wait is finally over with more and more devices receiving the Android 6.0 Marshmallow flavor that users have long desired.

The Marshmallow update for the Android devices including HTC One M9, Sprint’s HTC One M8 has already been rolled-out much to the delight of users out there. As for Motorola users, the company began its Android 6.0 Marshmallow roll out to its many handsets in December last year.

Starting January 19, Moto G Turbo in India began to receive the latest OS. As shared by Digital Trends, the security patch update from Google is also a part of this update, which arrived for Moto G Turbo. The update will now be released soon for Moto G (2nd gen). And, it won’t be long before users will be enjoying new features that the latest OS brings with it. Early January also saw the update arriving for Moto X Play in India and Brazil.

The company already put up a list of devices entitled for the Marshmallow update and these include: Moto X Pure Edition (2015), Moto X Style (2015), Moto X Play (2015), Moto X Pure Edition (2014 model in U.S.), Moto X (2014 model in Latin America, Europe, Asia), Moto G (2015), Moto G (2014), Moto G (4G LTE), Droid Turbo, Moto Maxx (2014), Moto Turbo (2014) and Nexus 6.

LG G4 users in Poland received the update last year and were soon followed by Sprint customers in North America. It is only this month that Verizon LG G3 (LG-VS985W) users began to receive the update. There has been no word from the company over which devices will be receiving the update.

As noted by Android Pit, users who are still awaiting the Marshmallow flavor to hit their device, can head to Settings – About Phone – Software updates to check for whether the Android 6.0 Marshmallow is available to download and install. Before installing the update, make sure to take a backup of all files and ensure that the new software is being installed over a steady Wi-Fi network.
