America’s Got Talent 2016 has the green light for another season on NBC. However, would fans see a new face on the reality competition show along with its renewal?
America’s Got Talent 2016 is hectic these days due to the ongoing live shows. The talented hopefuls this season certainly have the surprise factor that Simon Cowell noted. The diversity of the acts added great interest. Hence, the bigger audience season 11 drew in.
According to TV By The Numbers, more than 11 million viewers tuned in every week for the Tuesday edition. The rating for the Wednesday edition is a bit less but the number of weekly viewers was still above 10 million. Hence, its renewal was predictable given the good standing of the show this summer. Paul Telegdy, president of alternative and reality group at NBC Entertainment, noted the highlights of America’s Got Talent 2016 that led to its renewal.
“With the addition of Simon, the chemistry between our judges has grown even stronger and it’s easy to see how much enthusiasm they bring to the show night after night. Nick adds a boundless energy as host that ties everything together. We’re thrilled to have such a strong team returning for season 12,” Telegdy said. Thus, the same team returns for another installment, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Alas, Louis Tomlinson is not part of season 12. Once again, AGT left out the One Direction star from the roster of judges. Fans earlier expressed their disappointment at his absence on Week 1 of Judge Cuts. Teasers for his upcoming appearance on America’s Got Talent 2016 came out early. Viewers tuned in for the episode only to find out that he would come out last on July 20.
Then again, the chance that Louis Tomlinson to appear on the next season of America’s Got Talent 2016 seems slim. As Simon Cowell revealed recently, he and the 1D star are about to launch a girl group under Syco. Although the music mogul does have other reality shows that might suit Louis Tomlinson.
