The Judge Cuts are next for America’s Got Talent 2016, and fans can definitely expect the competition to intensify among the acts. However, their hopes to see Louis Tomlinson is not happening in Week 1.

Noticeably absent on the panel for the first week of America’s Got Talent Judge Cuts was Louis Tomlinson. Sources revealed earlier the One Direction star’s appearance on the US reality TV show. Pictures of Tomlinson walking the red carpet and even shots of him with this season’s judges went viral. Sources also suggested it was a precursor for his judging stint on the X Factor UK.

Yet fans need not worry, as the One Direction star will still appear on the show. Apparently, they saved Tomlinson’s guest appearance for the last week of Judge Cuts. His stint as a guest judge lasts for two hours and airs on July 20, Wednesday, according to MJS Big Blog.

Meanwhile, the judges managed to trim down 20 acts to seven for the first week. Guest judge Ne-Yo joined the panel. His role brought along an extra golden buzzer. The first spot went to football-playing magician Jon Dorenbos, the lucky act that earned the R&B singer’s vote. Thus, his backup plan could possibly end up as his full-fledged career after the NFL.

Japanese illusionist Hara also made the cut. Although his act might scare Mel B, the other judges already envision him performing in Las Vegas. Singer Ronee Martin and the acapella group Linkin Bridge earned their spots as well. Both acts were among Simon Cowell’s favorites during the auditions. Young comedienne Lori Mae Hernandez earned a spot as well with her funny jokes and comedic timing. She even has Mel B on her side as the former Spice Girl vowed to fight for this young girl on America’s Got Talent, Gossip and Gab revealed. The last two spots went to the juggling duo The Passing Zone and the family band Edgar.
