Ellen DeGeneres truly spilled the beans in her recent interview with Howard Stern.
As reported by Hitflix, in a candid conversation on “The Howard Stern Show”, when questioned whether she hated working on “American Idol”, Ellen said, “Yes…that’s one of the worst decisions I’ve made.”
She shared, “As a fan of the shows, it doesn’t matter that I sing or I know anything about pitch or anything, I’m like everybody else at home. It’s ‘American Idol.’…So I thought I’m gonna represent those people at home that have opinions…but then I just thought, like Howard says, I can’t break this person’s heart. Let somebody else do that.”
While she made it amply clear that working on “American Idol” wasn’t one of her best decisions, she also brushed aside rumors about her problems with her spouse, Portia De Rossi, under the carpet in quite an Ellen-way.
She said, “We’re kind of flattered. Because for awhile no one cared about us. And we thought ‘oh, lesbians aren’t worthy of tabloid stories.’ So now we’re kind of flattered that they even care about us.”
And Ellen wasn’t holding back, she also went on to give her comments about her recent interview with Caitlyn Jenner where Jenner shared her views on marriage equality. Jenner revealed how she has just began to accept same-sex marriage, since earlier she wasn’t supporting it.
Ellen was “baffled” that Jenner “still has a judgement about gay marriage.” During “The Ellen Show”, Jenner had shared how her thoughts have evolved, she said, “I don’t want to stand in front of anybody’s happiness.”
During the “The Howard Stern Show,” on a lighter now, Ellen shared how Brandley Cooper was responsible for the way the selfie turned out at the Oscars. Her original idea of leaving Meryl Streep out of the selfie couldn’t be executed as Cooper jumped in to help with taking the selfie.
But we are sure fans are glad that they had the chance to see all the stalwarts in a single frame.
