“Hotel” ended the fifth season of FX’s critically acclaimed anthology television series with a blast. No one would argue that Lady Gaga’s performance made the show more memorable, and it would probably be difficult to follow up after that. However, rumors and speculations have been circulating as of late that the next season will be focusing on the mythical internet horror, Slender Man.
Slender Man garnered a massive following, spinning off several spine-chilling games on major gaming platforms today namely the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One, as well as PC. The character’s origins trace back to a Photoshop competition a couple of years ago, and it has since then took over the world by storm. Now, rumours are starting to suggest that he himself will make it to the sixth installment of American Horror Story.
An unnamed “insider” said that the elongated stalker of unaware children will be the main focus of American Horror Story’s sixth season. After all, Slender Man’s recognized name is now tied to creepy stories during late night shows as well as subject to many tales in the dark in the world today. Now, co-creator of the series Ryan Murphy may be bringing him in the universe of the series and it would be interesting to see how he’s played out.
“Someone else wrote the script, and AHS wants to adapt it to fit the show. They have to buy the rights. Then they’re going to figure out the cast from there,” said the source.
However, hot on the heels of the rumours, Entertainment Weekly was quick to dismiss Slender Man’s appearance in American Horror Story as a source says that such rumours are “not true.” There’s already a plot set up for the upcoming season of the show but it won’t be officially unveiled until March hits.
