FX has been successful in keeping the American Horror Story Season 6 theme and title a secret until now.
Ryan Murphy’s anthology series has dropped 19 teasers so far for the upcoming season. None of the trailers relate to one another and all are done in different tones and styles. Only one of these trailers is going to be the American Horror Story Season 6 theme.
FX president John Landgraf earlier said they are going to release several trailers. Almost all are misdirect and only one has something to do with the actual plot of Season 6. Review site Rotten Tomatoes, however, made a major spoiler recently when it listed the AHS season title as The Mist. The site then removed the title from the AHS page a few hours later.
The trailer titled The Mist was the 13th teaser FX released. The clip shows a monster crawling along railroad tracks and out of the mist.

However, Yahoo Style reported that The Mist trailer is not among the six finalists the network named as potentially real. We are not discounting the possibility that there could be two genuine trailers.
Showrunner Ryan Murphy earlier teased that they are considering two ideas for Season 6. He refused to disclose any details of the second idea but teased that this has never been done before in the show. “Well, you know the interesting thing about the next season is that we’ve been working on two ideas at once, which we’ve never done,” he said.
Murphy declared earlier that American Horror Story Season 6 is about innocent children. This could be the first idea. As to what the second idea would be, The Mist trailer could offer some clues to that.
Meanwhile, some of cast members from previous seasons will return in the sixth installment of FX’s hit show. Lady Gaga, Sarah Paulson, Angela Bassett, Kathy Bates and Matt Bomer were among those who were confirmed to come back.
The American Horror Story Season 6 theme will finally be revealed when it premieres on September 14 at 10 p.m. on FX.
