“Agent Carter” was only recently axed but rumors suggest that the series might come back for a third installment. Will Captain America be asked to join Peggy Carter in Season 3?

According to IGN, there are no reports that suggest that Steve Rogers will join his longtime friend in her show, should it be revived. However, Hayley Atwell, the actress who plays Agent Carter herself, brought up her iconic pal’s name in a recent interview. She suggested she just might want him to appear on the show so she could “kick Steve’s ass.” Why would Peggy Carter want to hurt someone she’s friends with for a long time? What slight has Captain America done that Peggy might not be able to forgive?

As Cinema Blend pointed out, Rogers did kiss Carter’s granddaughter, Sharon, in the recent movie, “Captain America: Civil War.” Peggy’s character might have died in that same movie. But Atwell thinks she will not be too happy that her longtime friend made a move on her granddaughter. “Well, first of all, she’d be turning over in her grave. She’d be like no,” Atwell was quoted as saying.

The actress said her character might find the whole situation creepy. So creepy, in fact, that she might even want to be a super villain just to get back at Captain America for what he did. “She’d inject herself with the blue serum and become a super villain,” she said. “Then she’d kick Steve’s ass as well.”

If Atwell had her way, her granddaughter wouldn’t be able to escape her wrath either. “She’d break out of her coffin and ground [Sharon]. She’d ground her,” she said. “I just feel that you know – I wouldn’t want to date my great aunt’s guy. It just feels like it crosses an incestuous boundary. And Peggy just died. That’s even more disrespectful, right? It’s like, ‘don’t touch that.’ You can’t tap that!’”

Just a slight correction. It was Peggy’s niece, not granddaughter.
