The “Send My Love (To Your New Lover)” is part of Adele’s third album, “25,” released last November. The track is the third official single from the album following the hit ballads “Hello” and “When We Were Young.” Adele’s “25” has topped the Billboard 200 for ten consecutive weeks.

The song was her first collaboration with producers Max Martin and Shellback (Karl Johan Schuster), and director Patrick Daughters.  In November 2015, Adele talked about how the team ended up working together, Us Weekly reported.

“I wrote this with Max Martin. I heard ‘Trouble’ by Taylor Swift and was like, ‘WHO wrote that?!’” she said to the audience of an iHeartRadio event last year. Adele also noted at the time that the song is a “happy” one, but has some details of her moving on with her life following a break-up. “I’m in the best place ever. I have no idea where he is now,” she said.

Martin and Shellback worked alongside Swift on some of her biggest hits including “We Are Never Getting Back Together,” “Bad Blood” and “I Knew You Were Trouble,” Us Weekly noted. The duo also co-produced Justin Timberlake’s upbeat new single, “Can’t Stop the Feeling!”

Meanwhile, the Billboard Music Awards will be held at Las Vegas’ T-Mobile Arena on May 22 and it will be broadcasted live on ABC. According to Rolling Stone, Adele is set to receive a special fan-voted Billboard Chart Achievement award, while, Madonna will pay tribute Prince.

The event, which will be hosted by Ludacris and Ciara, will be packed with performers including Britney Spears, Rihanna, Celine Dion, Justin Bieber, Ariana Grande and much more.
