The new Audi R8 LMS is here and the Motoring Crunch reports that the German Master Class has already prepared several new Audi R8 LMS for the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship happening in 2016.
According to Top Speed, Audi’s first entry into the GT3 fray in 2009 saw the R8 LMS with modifications made over the years. Now, what looks to be “Ferociously Positive”, notes Top Speed, is the fact that Audi is recommitting to its GT3 customer-racing program with the all-new 2016 R8 LMS.
Romolo Liebchen, Head of Audi Sport customer racing, while speaking to SportsCar365 exclaims that multiple deals are being finalized that will likely see the German manufacturer getting well represented on the GT Daytona class grid.
He states, “It looks like we’re very strong. We already have increased production numbers and it looks like we’re going to 50 cars for next year.”

Customers can now order the new Audi R8 LMS. The deliveries are expected to be made by the year end. The price currently stands at 359,000 euros (plus VAT) which is equivalent to $400,000. It is just the starting price. With parts package the price may increase up to 398,000 euros (plus VAT) which amounts to $444,000.
